On Monday we are free to see some more of Spain and will fly back to the Netherlands that evening.I will try to keep you posted on my Facebook-page, so keep your eyes on there during this upcomming weekend!
On Tuesday the 5th of July our 59th edition of the one and only Aircooled Cruise Night in Zevenhuizen the Netherlands took place. Again a lot of aircoolers showed up, even a couple of very nice Porsches which was great to see for once! Be sure to be there at out 60th edition as we will have our anual 'concours d' elegance'! I uploaded almost 120 pics of this ACN, check out my 'Gallery Page'!
Last weekend, on 1-3 July 2011 the European Bug-In #4 took place in Chimay, Belgium. What a great weekend it was! The forth edition was the busiest one ever and brought out most of Europe's best cars! From Cal-Lookers to Vintage Racers and Resto- to Rat-Lookers, everything was there and in amazing numbers that no one could have ever imagined!
The dragracing was good and again there where some very special - never seen before - vintage racers. Like the 'Lightning Bug' who won 'Best of Show'. The Gasser line-up is always a very cool moment, all those bright colors, such a great sight! And there was the helicopter flight I got into to get some exclusive shots, be sure to check them all out in my gallery!
We had a busy weekend at the AirMighty Megascene stand. We did our best to have a nice display of cars there and got a lot of exposure. Thanks a lot to everyone who dropped by the stand to say hi and supported us by getting their hands on the magazine or that subscription! Thanks!
Cool atmosphere in this European Bug-In #4 from David Stevens:

Last weekend Marco and I had an amazing time on our trip from The Netherlands to Wolfsburg, from Wolfsburg to Frankfurt on to Bad Camberg and in the end back to The Netherlands again. It was my first trip with the '51 CC Splitwindow beetle, the 'Brezel'. The total trip was little over 1300KM and it all went without any problems and an average speed of 105km/ph which is not bad for the original 60 year old engine! We left on Thursday to Wolfsburg. There we visited Autostadt and drove to the 50-Years Type-3 meeting / camping that evening to see what was happening over there. The 50 year Type-3 meeting wasn't really a meeting, this was more an annual get together of the German and Dutch Type-3 Clubs. But there where still over 50 cars there zso it was worth the visit. On Friday we started at Autostadt again, here we got the factory tour which was the first time for us so very interesting to see. After that we went to check out the 'Volkswagen Museum' which Marco hadn't been before and for me they had some "new" cars on display. After that we drove to Frankfurt where we got invited at the 'Barndoor Ranch' by Ben and Dennis, we arrived a little bit late but the BBQ was still on so we where in for some 'käse wurst', thanks guys. From there we left to the apartment that Claus arranged for us very near to Bad Camber where, after a last beer of that day, we spend two nights.Saturday morning was early. The alarm clock went at 06.00, time to get up and see the show where we came for, the '9th Internationales Bad Camberger VW-Veteranen-Treffen'! We had rain all day, but despite that we had a great day! It was good to see all our friends and other people from all over the world and get together again! Se had a couple of last drinks in the tent and went back to the apartment at 00.30.Sunday morning, not the biggest rush. We arrived at the show at 09.00 and had the best weather in the world, man I even got a little sunburn. After seeing the cars again and a scroll around the swapmeet area, where I found some small stuff for my '51, it was time to go home again… we left at 16.00 o'clock and had a good trip back home with no problems at all and a big smile on my face!
This upcomming weekend it's time for the European Bug-In #4!We are really looking forward to this event, it has every aspect in it that we as die-hard aircooled VW fan need. From the club-display's to the show & shine and on to the dirt-track than via the swapmeet to check out the 1/4 mile drag race strip for some serious and vintage drag race action!
We will be there with the AirMighty Megascene stand during the whole weekend! Be sure to drop by and say hello, get your collection complete. You will be in for a nice surprice at the entrance as well, so be there or be square!
On Friday June 10, before we went to the Bug Run Show, Paul took us to the 'Holmgrens Volkswagenmunseum' which was about an one hour drive from the event. They have a big collection out there starting from a '47 model beetle up to the last edition. some nice Type 3's, verts and other rarities! When your in that able sure to check it out, and ask for the muffin's with warm marmalade in there!I uploaded 130 pictures in my gallery, be sure to check out the Trips & Shop visits section in the gallery!
