That time of the year again, the biggest one day air-cooled VW event is about to take place on the Hannover Messe in Germany again. A full day of parts hunting and / or car spotting… as there is so much you can’t do it all properly in one day!
This 1st of May Show ’41. Mai Käfer Treffen’ in Hannover always starts the day before with setting up and in the evening the DFL Cal Look Club organizes their MCM – May Cruise Madness cruise night, definitely worth visiting when you are there!

41. MaiKäferTreffen 2024

Another great and warm May day in Hannover

On 1 May 2024, the 41st MaiKäferTreffen took place on the large West-Parkplätzen of the Hannover-Messe in Hannover, Germany. This is by far the largest one-day classic Volkswganen meet in the world, where you have to choose to look at cars or actively search for parts at the mega swap-meet.

Rise and shine for 1st of May

The MaiKäferTreffen started at 9:00 am, but the car park was accessible as early as 7:00 am. No registration was required; everyone was welcome to come and enjoy the beautiful air-cooled VW vehicles. Catering provided refreshment and food on the terrace in front of the stage, while little ones could have fun and watch the vehicle presentations. For the Show & Shine competition, participants lined up in front of the stage around 10:00 am. It was a day full of passion, shiny paintwork and the signature VW spirit. Thanks everyone who stopped by and bought AirMighty Magazines and Merchandise at out stand, we highly appreciate the support!

DFL May Cruise Madness

And let’s not forget the night before: the DFL – Der Fieser Luftkühlers VW Club organised the MCM May Cruise Madness cruise night. This club, known for its California Look style, brought together VW enthusiasts for a fun-filled evening of classic air-cooled cars at the Burger King parking nearby. Proceeds from the May Cruise Madness shirt sale went to a charity event for Ukrainian-refugees. And they always give away a ‘Car of the Night’ award, and this year it went to Kenneth and Melvin Anno, for their very stunning Cal Look Oval Beetle from Belgium! It was a great way to warm up the atmosphere for the big event on 1 May.
